Hypothesis of Anger Management Therapy
The Anger Control Therapy is based within a social learning, psycho- educational, cognitive-behavioural, psychotherapeutic framework which has been developed over many years by people such as Beck, Bandura and Novaco. We have found that using Individuals need to be aware of the various ways in which their feelings, thoughts and behaviours are related and to be given the practical skills and tools to enable them to modify their responses to anger. Therapy for anger takes a dual approach, cognitive-behavioural and psychotherapeutic methods are the most effective of helping individuals in the process of change. One you may call the conventional: looking for the trigger points, the flash points and dealing with these, teaching strategies so that the build up of anger does not explode onto those around them. Alongside this Individuals are introduce to important therapeutic techniques that look for the underlying source of anger. Once found and dealt with the two approaches together bring about a total resolution to the problem, quickly and permanently.
